Happy Holidays To All

I bet you all thought I had abandoned my blog. Seems that way to me too, but I really haven't. Hopefully with the new year I can add new things and keep it updated. Made lots of Christmas gifts and then got down to the last minute and forgot to take pics of most. Will try to remember to not do that again. One thing I did take pics of was a necklace I designed for Keni's Aunt Joanne for her 12 Days of Christmas swap. I was pretty happy with the way it turned out. I really am anxious to try another. So here is the necklace and I promise to be back soon and post more. Happy New Year to All. Hugs cindy

Wow, I'm Back...

I haven't been able to post a picture since I got my laptop, that was in June. The last pic Lisa posted for me. I finally asked George to see if he could fix the problem for me. It looks like he did! Good Son!!!! So I thought I would share one of my favorite flowers in my garden with you all. Now that I can post pics I will be back soon. hugs cindy

Hello

I haven't posted in so long I nearly forgot how to get here! I was busy trying to finish 2 afghans to give as gifts on June 3rd. Mixed in with several Dr. appointments, tests. and then all the extra days volunteering at school. Boy was I ready for a break but the day after school we headed to Reno for 2 days, another doctor appointment, and now to get something new to post.

I promised a set of placemats for a raffle for 4th of July. Red, white and blue of course. Well I got the first one done and wouldn't you know I had to break not one but 2 pegs off of my loom. No more placemats! I was so sad. I have had those looms for probably 30 years and I thought while making the placemat I would be so sad if I ever broke it. So I break it! I'm not an ebay shopper but I had to go and look and I finally found a bargain. I will put in a bid first thing in the morning and hope I win. So far not one bid on them and I am hoping it will stay that way. I will let you all know if I get lucky. Otherwise the cheapest I found was 50.00 and up on ebay.

So here is the the center piece I made to match the placemats. I promise not to be gone for so long. Hugs to all, Cindy~~~It seems blogger doesn't want to upload my pics right now so I will have to come back later and try to post the pics. So check back if you'd like to see them. Day 2 still trying to upload the pic. Sorry. I will keep trying.

A Surprise For Emmy

Sweet little Emmy broke her arm so I thought I would send her a little treat. When Keni was younger she was always bringing home little rocks from school. Sometimes she would forget to give them to me and they would end up in the bottom of the washing machine. I wish I would have thought of this back then. When the M's are all gone they have a nice little rock holder. Or refill with more M's would be good too! lol Well I better go and find a padded envelope to stick these in and get them ready for the post office. Bye for now...Hugs, Cindy

The Skinny Tassel Scarf

Still trying to use up some pink yarn. This is 3 shades of pink. 3 crocheted skinny scarves connected in the middle with tassels added. I really like knitted scarves better than crocheted but I do like this one.

The wind is blowing and it is rainy out. Keni said they even got snowed on at lunch recess today! Oh well, it is the weekend and we can stay in if it continues. Time to go and relax and find a new project. It seemed like a long day at school today. Hugs, Cindy

Turtle

Keni's teacher has a turtle, well actually a tortoise that lives in the classroom and goes home on weekends and holidays. The kids take turns taking care of her. So I made this little guy for Keni to take to her teacher tomorrow. It has a 3 liter soda bottle cap inside with some stuffing. Just got the idea last night and had to give it a try and I think it turned out pretty cute. I can see a lady bug coming soon!

We have had such nice weather, around 80 all week. Well things have changed today. It started out nice but now the wind is blowing and the sky is getting over cast. Suppose to rain again! They say today, tomorrow and Saturday. We really need the rain but I was getting pretty used to the nice weather.

Well I am off to work on some coasters. Hugs, Cindy

Shades of Pink

It has been a while since I have been here. I am way over due with a new project. I have been working on a set of placemats for my sister. I love the placemats but hate all the ties it takes to make one. Four down and only 3 more to go! In the mean time I decided to use up more of my odds and ends. I made some squares for 2 more scrap aghans. And with still more of the pink I made a scrappy scarf for Lisa. I'm working on another one that I will post tomorrow. It is 3 pink skinny scarves with tassles. Just something I decided to try and see how it turns out. So far it looks great!

Spring break is nearly over and our weather was mostly terrible! On Tuesday it started storming and continued until late Wednesday night. And boy was it cold. Only about 32 degrees! Today it is better but still chilly. Suppose to be up near 80 tomorrow! And then school starts back on Monday, with only 6 weeks left!!! I think we are ready for summer vacation! Keni got her progress report the last day of school and she made honor roll again, A's and those 2 darn B's that she just can not get over that 87 and 89%! One of these days she will get there! lol

Was suppose to go to Reno Wednesday to see the cardiologist and get some tests done but had to cancel because of the storm. There was no was I was going to try and drive 4 hours in that! So will probably wait until school is out to try and go. Well, I guess that is all for today. Better go and finish up the "tassle skinny scarf"...Hugs, Cindy

Go Cup Cozy

Keni had a sub the last week and a half as her teacher had surgery. So on Friday before I left for school I made this for her. I put 2 packs of hot cocoa in the cup. When she opened the bag she was so excited. She said she will use it all the time as she is always buying coffee and burning her fingers. I was so glad she liked it since I wasn't even sure she drank coffee. I also took her a candy bar with a bunny wrapper on it. She loved that one too.

The weather has been so nice. Still really cold in the mornings, like 32 this morning at 8. But 60 later in the day but feels much warmer. And then it is suppose to SNOW again tomorrow!!! Well off to pick up my crochet hook. Hopefully I will find something or make something new to post tomorrow...Hugs, Cindy

A New Shopping Bag

I found a new shopping bag pattern and had to give it a try. It works up really fast and I really like the handles. I made 2 of them last night! I know the picture is not the best but did not feel like climbing up on my step stool to get a better pic. LOL I am going to keep it really short and say goodnight. Had a long day and I am sooo tired. Bye. Hugs Cindy

Dangle Necklace

This is the other necklace Keni wanted me to make. This one does not change flowers like the first one. I will have to get her to model them when she gets home from school. I just made this one this morning so she hasn't seen it yet.

It did snow more through the night but the sun is beginning to come out so hopefully it will all be gone soon. I hope so anyway as our deck is really slick. Well off to find my next project. Hugs, Cindy

Necklace

Keni saw this necklace pattern I had printed out and she wanted me to make one for her. She picked the yarn and went for a walk, by the time she got back I had it done. It is made with cotton yarn and works up really fast. It looks really cute on her too! I made the flower so it could be removed and she could add another color of flower if she wanted too. Now to make her some different colored flowers!

It is cold and wet today! We did get a light snow last night, it is gone around the house but you can still see it on the mountains. I haven't checked the weather to see what tomorrow will be like but I hope it is warmer and not so wet!!! I have one more style necklace to make and Keni is waiting for it too! I guess I will go and work on it. Bye for now...Hugs, Cindy

Flower for Lindsey

I made this last night. Inside is a 3 liter bottle cap. Inside the cap is a musical button. Fit perfectly! I have a pacifier strap I am going to attach it too. I was looking for some beads to make something for Keni when I came across the musical button. I bought it in Florida so it is at least 8 years old. I could not even believe it would still work, but it did!

The weather has been so nice. 78 yesterday! But...it is suppose to SNOW tomorrow! Not sure I want more snow but we do need the moisture. Keni and I worked in the yard for a while this morning. Now we just need to get George to start up the tractor and get the grass mowed and get the water hose out. Well going to go and look for those beads to work on the project I was thinking about when I found the music button... Hugs Cindy

Eggs

Seems like I haven't been here forever! Had a long week last week with doctors appointments and school and I tried to post a couple of times and had satellite problems so just give up. Luckily we have a new modem upgrade coming and maybe that will help. Now if my computer would quit loosing it's virtual memory I would be great.

Ok, enough of that. On to the eggs! I haven't made any of these in years. Just crochet and glue onto plastic eggs. Oh so easy! You can fill with candy, little toys, jewelry, just about any little item. I did make a little chick for one when I lived in Florida and took it to my friend for Easter. She loved it!

Our weather is beautiful! A little nippy when I get back from the bus at 7:30 for my walk but it warms up to about 60 during the day. Perfect if you ask me! My Iris's are all popping out of the ground. The lawn is turning green. My tub of Columbines is full of green and a few lilac bushes have buds on them. I might have to get out the water hose this weekend and give everyone a drink. I hope you all are having nice weather too. Ours is nice but we always get a big freeze in June so no need to do too much in the yard until after that! Hugs, Cindy

The Mini Scarf

This is my latest creation. Keni named it the Mini Scarf. I started with the black fun fur one. I love it! Spring pictures are coming up in a week or so and Keni planned to wear the green one but now she says she "will have to decided which one she wants to wear." These were all made with left overs. Keni did say "Grandma you really need to quit making these so fast!" LOL

We started the day out with another snow storm. For a while it looked like a blizzard. Suppose to be nice tomorrow and day after and then more snow. It has really been cold too. Only 38 today. Well gonna go and find something else to work on until bedtime. hugs Cindy

Doily

This is one of my favorite doilies to make. Just a shell pattern and works up fast. This one I sent to Joanne. I love her fountain on it. They really look like candles in the pic! I made a couple of pinwheel doilies for Christmas and give them with a candle, I forgot to take pics. Well if I had finished them earlier I probably would have but they were done right at the last minute. They loved them! I really need new glasses and a much better light to work with thread! Going to the eye doctor the 12th so hopefully that will help.

I am tired so will close for now. It was a long day at school. Keni got her report card. She made the honor roll again! She got 2 B's and the rest A's. The one B was an 89%, almost got past it! Bye for now...Hugs Cindy

Easter Bunny

I made this little bunny a couple of years ago for Keni to take to her teacher. It was suppose to be a sucker holder but wouldn't you know we didn't have a sucker around the house. So I stuck it on the top of a bottle of water and added a label to the bottle and the teacher loved it. With Easter coming up I need to go through my patterns and find it to make some more.

It snowed this morning. Maybe an inch or so. Now it is melting off the roof and will probably all be gone this afternoon if it stays the way it is. Pretty cold too! I hope you all are dry and warm. Bye for now...Hugs Cindy

Quilt

This is the quilt I made Keni for Christmas last year. Yes, my very first quilt! I have not even used a sewing machine since George was little. No wait, when Lisa (my niece) was little I made her some little dresses. So no sewing for me in many, many years. George is 41 and Lisa is about 5 years behind him. The funny part was I kept it a secret from Keni. We started in September and I only got to work on it one or two mornings a week. That was the only time I had plus my sewing machine just would not cooperate. There were days when I thought I would never get this quilt finished. So by the first of December Keni was asking me when I was going to make something? I had to tell her that Charlene (the lady teaching me) said I did not sew well enough to make anything yet. So I had to keep practicing! She fell for it. When she opened that box for Christmas she was sooooo surprised.

The day started out beautiful and ended up cold and windy. They say more snow tomorrow. I sure hope they are wrong or we have to go through all that mud again! Well time to go. Hugs Cindy

Placemats

This is the set of placemats I made for Lisa a month or so ago. Half of them were like this and the other half were red in the middle and tied with the yellow. They sure turned out pretty. Each little flower has 3 knots in it. You know what happens when you tie knot after knot? Pretty soon you have a little cut on you finger. So I moved to the next finger. Before you know it I had bandaids on all four fingers! You would think by now I would have learned to put the bandaids on before I start to tie all those knots. Maybe next time I will remember that! lol

It is windy and kinda rainy here today. A little brisk. I was going to go and take a walk but a little too windy and cold and then the rain drops really stopped me! Guess I will go and find something to work on. I hope you all have a wonderful day. Hugs Cindy

Bookmark

I haven't made too many bookmarks but I really liked how this one turned out. I sent this one to a friend. I really do need to make some more.

I have been trying and trying to remove the gif at the top of my blog but so far no luck. When I put it there I was just testing it not realizing it was a gif. So it looks like you are all stuck with it unless someone has a good tip for me to try. I went to a blog "fix it" forum and made the changes in the html like they said and it did part of what they said it would but still will not change. So I sure hope you all don't get tired of seeing that little House Mouse everytime you check out my blog.

Well only one more week before the dreaded time change. I sure wish they would just leave it alone. Guess that is all for now. Hugs Cindy

Hand Towel

This is one of the hand towels I make to go with the pot holders. I make a dress to cover the dish soap to match and it all makes a real cute set for a gift.

I have had a long day so will make this one nice and short. Bye for now...Hugs Cindy

Pot Holders

These are my favorite potholders to make. You start at the top and cover the cabone ring and just work in rounds until finished. Close the bottom and you are done. Nice double think potholders.

I make a hand towel to match. I will have to look and see if I have taken a pic of any of them before sending them off to a new home. I really do need to organize my pics and get them all together.

I think Spring is here!! It was 64 yesterday and we saw our first pair of Robins in the yard! That must mean Spring is here!! I hope you all are having as nice of weather as we are . Hugs Cindy

More Lucky Pennies

I found a few more shiney pennies, adjusted my pattern and made these. Now I am happy with the pattern. I will have to stop at the bank tomorrow and get some nice shiney pennies. For babies it could be the year you were born penny! I was thinking of doing a state quarter too.

I have had trouble all day trying to get on here to post. Sometimes I think blogger wants me to disappear with all the trouble I have with it. Oh well just try, try, again! Hugs Cindy

Lucky Penny

I have been thinking of things for Teachers' Appreciation. It's not until May but thought I would get some things lined up. I did the Lucky Penny a few years ago and since these are all different teachers I thought I would do it again just a different little touch. So this is my first one. I need to adjust it just a little but I do like the way it turned out. Now I just need to dig out some shiney pennies so I can make about 14 more!

I hope everyone had a wonderful week end. It was kind of chilly here today. We are suppose to get rain the next few days but will just have to wait and see if it happens...Hugs Cindy

Ark Baby Blankie

I made this baby blankie a couple of years ago for my sister to give to a friend. It is the second time I made this pattern and the second time I said "I'd never make another one!" But knowing me I will probably make another one someday. The making is easy it is just the putting together of all those little squares that take the time. But it is so cute when finished. George still has the one I made for him when he was about 12 years old. It is a farm scene. I will have to have him get it out of his closet one of these days and take a pic of it.

It was so nice yesterday. Even Keni commented about the nice spring day. It is suppose to be the same today. I hope so! Then we are suppose to get rain again. We need the rain I just hate all the MUD! I hope everyone has a wonder day...Hugs Cindy

Christmas Again

These are the ornaments I made for the ornament swap in December. I was pretty happy with the way they turned out. I really am excited about the ornaments I have decided to make for the swap this year. It will be so hard NOT to share them before then! I will tell you it will be another snowman but that is all you will get out of me! LOL

I cut the top of my thumb so haven't been able to stitch for the last couple of days but may have to break down and try a to do a little today. It is so hard to not pick up a needle or hook. Tried to read last night but kept thinking about what I wanted to make so had to keep reading the same page over. Finally gave up on the reading! LOL Well gonna go and get some laundry and stuff done. Hopefully I can work on something later. Hope everyone has a great day...Hugs Cindy

Another Scrappy Scarf

This is the 3rd Scrappy Scarf I have made in the last few weeks. Keni says she "claims them all!" They are each so different but so cute. I just love them. For now I am out of pieces of off white so no more Scrappy Scarves for a while. Now I am off to find a new project. That is always a hard decision. Wish me luck...Hugs Cindy

Dishcloth Britches

These have to be my favorite dishcloths to make. Although I don't know if anyone has ever taken them apart to use them. To be honest I don't think I could take them apart to use them!

The snow is melting but we still have a lot to go. Now we are back to mud again. We are enjoying our 3 day weekend. But it sure goes by too fast. But to think school is nearly half way through already! It will be over soon. Time just flies by!!!! Bye for now...Hugs Cindy

Another Scrubbie

Happy Valentine's Day!

I am going to try this one more time. I tried to post this 3 times yesterday and never could. This is my second try today. If this one doesn't work I think I will give up!! This was made with the Dollare Store Scrubbies. I have more scrubbies to use up so need to get more made up.

It snow and was cold yesterday and they called for more snow today but the sun is out and the sky is clear. Keni and I are having a pj day. George had to work this morning but is home now so we are all warm and cozy. Hopefully this will post and I won't have to scream on Valentine's Day! LOL Hope you all have a wonderful day with all your loved ones...Hugs Cindy

Coasters for Valentine's Day

Well, resting the carpal tunnel went out the window yesterday afternoon! Just had to do something. I figured the teachers got enough candy from all the kids so I made some coasters. I thought the colors would be like the conversation hearts. I made 2 sets, just finished the trim on them and after I bundled up the one set I decided to take a pic. I made 4 to the set. I really like this pattern and they work up really fast.

It says it is only 34 degrees outside but doesn't seem that cold. I have the door open and the weeny dogs are laying in the sun spot right in front of the door. It's funny when all 3 dogs are there and the cat too! They only have so much space but they all seem to fit in to get their space in the sun.

Seems I can crochet without as much pain as when I knit so guess I will go and find another crochet project and leave the knitting for a while. I was telling George about this carpal tunnel massage contraption I saw that is guaranteed to free you of pain in 10 days by using it twice a day for 15 minutes at a time. Sounds good to me but the price is $150.00. A lot cheaper then surgery but I'm always afraid they won't return my money if I try to return! Then with the results of my right hand I wonder if the money might be worth it. Gotta think about this one.

Well better go. Hope you all are having a wonderful day. Bye for now...Cindy

Shopping Bags

A few weeks ago I made some shopping bags. I made one to send to Joanne in 2007 but I really like this pattern better. I used some Aunt Lydia's Demin cotton I had bought in Florida and never used. I used to get it at Wal Mart but haven't seen it there for a while now. It is slightly thinner then the cotton I usually use but the balls were big enough to get 2 shopping bags from each ball. They sure will hold a lot. More then I would carry at one time!

We had a terrible storm on Monday. Snow, snow and more snow! And oh so cold! It was 5 degrees yesterday morning. Not quite as cold today but still too cold. We have chances of more snow for the next 3 or 4 days. Sure will be glad when Spring gets here. I haven't been knitting or crocheting for a couple of days and all I want to do it sit down and knit. My carpal tunnel in my left hand has really been bothering me so I have been trying to let it rest up. Not sure how much longer I will go without working on something. I think this summer for sure I need to get it fixed and have it over with. Well time to go and check my email. I haven't even done that for a couple of days. Bye...hugs Cindy

The Ugly Duckling

Yes, he is UGLY, but so ugly he's cute! I made this for Keni when she was born. He is 12 years old and still Quacks! I put a "quack, quack, quack, quack" box in him and was so surprised to hear him still working. We sorted through Keni's stuffed animals yesterday and there he was. We are down to one tub of animals again. So have 2 big trash bags to put away. You know she won't part with any of them! I told her she could only keep two out and change them off with 2 others when she got tired of them. Otherwise this girl has them ALL on her bed!

It is really chilly out today. I started to take the trash down to the dumpster but changed my mind. Told Keni it can wait until we go to the bus in the morning. We just finished making Keni's Valentine cards for school. Just have to put the candy in them and they are finished. She had to decorate some kind of box to take to school for her party Friday. She said it was an assignment and would be graded. I'll have to take a pic. She did a cute job on it. Well that's it for now...Hugs Cindy

Scrappy Scarf

Thursday I decided to make a scarf out of my box of scraps so the "Scrappy Scarf" was born. I finished it last night and of course Keni claimed it! It has 10 colors in the scarf and then more with the colors in the fringe. The only rule was to carry one strand of off white and just reach in and grab a new color when I ran out. If I grabbed the same color as I just finished it was set aside until I grabbed another ball. It actually turned out pretty cute!

So now what do I make? That is the hardest part, the decision! Hope you all have had a nice couple of days. We have had problems and haven't been able to get online the last two days, went over our megabits, so the "fair access policy" dropped our speed down worse then dialup. Sure was happy when I came over here and seen my email was finally working. Well off I go to find a new project...Hugs Cindy

Dishcloths

I found some nylon scrubbies I bought at the Dollar Store a while back so decided to try and use some of them up. Then found the heart pattern and thought it would make a cute dishcloth so stitched that one up too. I love little fast projects! I'm still trying to use up odds and ends and clean out my tubs so no telling what else may come about.

We are overcast and getting ready to rain/snow again! Well off to dust and pick up doggie toys! This Pumpkin loves her toys and will empty the toy basket about as fast as I fill it up! She always seems to want the one toy that is in the very bottom! Hope you all stay warm and dry...Hugs Cindy

Chap Stick Holder

I finally got under my desk and unplugged my computer so it will read my camera disk again. Let's see how long it lasts this time! lol

After finishing the placemats I grabbed my bag with all the odds and ends of cotton and decided to make some chap stick holders. The one with the chap stick in it is the first one I made and then decided to go back to the way I made them before with the bottoms. I liked the first one since you could twist the bottom without removing the stick but wasn't happy because if you weren't careful you could push it out. So I'll stick with the ones with the bottoms. I hope you all have a happy day.

It is suppose to be beautiful today, in the mid 50's, but suppose to be back to stormy tomorrow! Yuk. Bye for now...hugs Cindy

National Wear Red Day

Friday, February 6th is National Wear Red Day to bring awareness to womens' heart disease. I made this little red dress in 2008 to send to my sister not long after she had her heart surgery. This is the poem I sent with it:

A pretty little dress
to mark your page
Slip me on the corner
and there I'll stay
Need a pin to wear
on your chest?
What better then this
Little Red Dress?
I'll bring awareness to
Women's Heart Disease
So wear it proudly
and spread the word
For all to see.

Suede Scarf

I bought this suede yarn a couple of years ago on close out at Wal Mart. They sold for $6.00 a skein so never tried it before. I got it for $1.00 each but they only had the beige and dark brown. I finally used some in December to make this scarf. It is not as easy to work with as acrylic or cotton but I sure liked the finished scarf. Nice and soft and comfy feeling.

I understand that groundhog saw his shadow this morning and we will have 6 more weeks of winter! Just what we needed, more cold! Well I am going to go and get some chores done so I can get to work on the placemats I am making. I so want to crochet! But I can't stand to start something when I am working on a project so placemats first! Only 2 1/2 left to do. Yeah! Have a great day all...hugs cindy

Another Christmas Gift

I took some new pics this morning and wouldn't you know my computer doesn't want to read my camera card again. I will have to pull the power plug like before and hope it will work again.

So, until then I have to go with an older project. I made these a year ago and they were just tucked away in a tub. When working on Joannes 12 Days of Christmas I thought of them. She did plan to have Christmas dinner at her house and I thought they would be really cute holding siverware. So off they went to Florida! They ended up on her Christmas tree since her Dad was not well but hopefully this year she will be able to use them for dinner. If not I bet they are cute on a tree too!

I am getting a cold so I am going to go and fill my vaporizor and go to bed. Goodnight...Hugs Cindy

Another Ascot and Scarf

When I finished Keni's Ascot I still had some yarn left so made another ascot. This one is a little narrower. And I still had yarn left so made an itty bitty scarf. It will go to Lindsey. Should be just the right size for her in a few more months. You can see flecks of color better in this pic then in the pic of Keni's. I did end up using all the yarn except a few yards of one of them. That will get thrown back in the odds and ends. I hope to get most of these odds and ends and open skeins used up this year!

We just got home from school about 30 minutes ago. I figured I'd better get right to this before I get busy. It was a beautiful day today. In the high 40's but the sun was shining and it seemed so much warmer. I hope it stays this way for a while without raining or snowing more. For now that's all...Hugs Cindy

Dish Soap Dress

I love to give these dish soap dresses as gifts. I made these 6 a couple of weeks ago. Now I need to make some scrubbies and pot holders to go with them. I didn't realize how much I enjoy working with cotton until I work with it for a few days in a row.

It doesn't seem like it is possible but I was looking at my pattern and I made this pattern up 16 years ago. I can't believe it was that long ago! It doesn't seem like I have been here nearly 8 years either. How time flies and more so as you get older! LOL Well I need to get some chores done so I can sit and stitch! Hope you all have a happy day and stay warm, it is still freezing cold here! ...hugs cindy

George's Projects

I thought you all might like to see a few things George has made lately. On the left and blue and white and a red and white hat. Next 2 pair of slipper socks. The last 2 are hat and scarf sets made with homespun yarn. They all tured out really nice. I guess next time I shouldn't lay them on the afghan on my bed. Right now I am working on a set of placemats. Hopefully I will take the time to take a few new pics of items to share. We have had 2 days off from school for teacher's training. Gotta get up early tomorrow. Well better go and try to get some dinner lined up. Hope you all had a happy day, hugs cindy

Another Joanne Gift

These are the Go Cup cozies I made for Aunt Joanne's 12 days swap. Had to include one for Uncle Tom too. Keni loves these cups and I usually have to hide a few to have for gifts! I have a new pattern to try when I get the chance and will let you all know how it comes out. We stuffed a couple of packages of hot cocoa and a stir stick (chocolate covered candy stick) inside. Mades a cute little gift. We are having a snowy, windy day. We were under a sever weather alert until 4pm. Not sure if that has changed or not but sure tired of this cold weather! I hope everyone had a wonderful Sunday...Cindy

Something Real Different Today

I'm so new to this blogging I didn't know about all this stuff! Lisa left me a challenge on her blog. The challenge was to go to my photo album and then go to the 6th folder and then post the 6th picture. So this is it. This is my sister Judy, Keni and I when we went to Reno a year and a half ago to meet up with Judy and her husband Danny. So now you see how short and GRAY I am!!! LOL I hope you all had a wonderful day...Hugs Cindy

Keni's Ascot

I tried to post this early this morning and all I got was "satellite outage". After two tries I give up and got ready for school. When Keni saw the ascot I made for Judy said said "just lovely". When she saw me working on this one she looked at it and said "not so lovely". LOL When I asked her why she said the color! I really LOVE the color myself. It is one wine colored skein and one called Painted Dessert, lavendar, purple, with bits of colors through out. I hope she ends up thinking it is LOVELY too. She thinks she is modeling it for her "Aunt Joanne", but told me "you know you should have made it in PINK". She hasn't opened her gifts yet so doesn't know it is hers.

I don't know why my camera is taking such dark pics lately. I have lights on and flash and they are still dark. I sure can't figure it out. Well it is nearly dinner time so will go. Talk to you all later...Cindy

Ascot

I just finished this this morning. After my sister, Judy, saw the short one I made for Joanne she said she wanted one. Since I wanted to try this pattern I figured she would get this one. I really like the way it turned out just wasn't real happy with the botton but had no other choice. I told her to look for a nice wooden button after she gets it and change it. When she does I will have her send me a pic to see the difference.

We are having a wet day. Just drizzling. I would rather it rain and get it over with. Tomorrow is the big day. Keni's birthday! 12 years old! She is having a girlfriend come home and spend the night. I am working on an ascot for her right now. She will get her afghan, now that is going to be a BIG surprise! Then Saturday I told her I would take her shopping and let her pick out what she wanted. She wants pizza for dinner so that will be easy. Just pick it up after school! Joanne, I wish you and Tom were her to join us for pizza. Yes, it's coming from Mama's Pizza! Well gotta go. Hope you all are staying dry and warm...Cindy

Germ-X

I made one of these for Keni last year. She had it hanging from her lunch box all year. I think all the kids that sat near her used it. She was always having to refill! It covers the little Germ-X bottle you get with all the samples back by the shampoo isle at Wal Mart. They are only 50 cents. There is a bigger bottle that is 89 cents and it will fit it too. When it gets empty you just refill from a big bottle. I was afraid the lids might not last long but Keni's it still fine and I have one in my purse that is over a year old and it is fine too.

Well I tried to get on this afternoon when I got home from school but HughesNet must have been too busy because I never could get online. And now that I can it is nearly bedtime. I am so tired. Went to school until noon and then to work. Got home and couldn't hardly stay awake. So I think I will call it a night. I sure hope this works this time. I tired to post and all I got was satellite outage. So had to start all over. Let's see what happens this time. Talk to you all tomorrow...Cindy
