Hand Towel

This is one of the hand towels I make to go with the pot holders. I make a dress to cover the dish soap to match and it all makes a real cute set for a gift.

I have had a long day so will make this one nice and short. Bye for now...Hugs Cindy

Pot Holders

These are my favorite potholders to make. You start at the top and cover the cabone ring and just work in rounds until finished. Close the bottom and you are done. Nice double think potholders.

I make a hand towel to match. I will have to look and see if I have taken a pic of any of them before sending them off to a new home. I really do need to organize my pics and get them all together.

I think Spring is here!! It was 64 yesterday and we saw our first pair of Robins in the yard! That must mean Spring is here!! I hope you all are having as nice of weather as we are . Hugs Cindy

More Lucky Pennies

I found a few more shiney pennies, adjusted my pattern and made these. Now I am happy with the pattern. I will have to stop at the bank tomorrow and get some nice shiney pennies. For babies it could be the year you were born penny! I was thinking of doing a state quarter too.

I have had trouble all day trying to get on here to post. Sometimes I think blogger wants me to disappear with all the trouble I have with it. Oh well just try, try, again! Hugs Cindy

Lucky Penny

I have been thinking of things for Teachers' Appreciation. It's not until May but thought I would get some things lined up. I did the Lucky Penny a few years ago and since these are all different teachers I thought I would do it again just a different little touch. So this is my first one. I need to adjust it just a little but I do like the way it turned out. Now I just need to dig out some shiney pennies so I can make about 14 more!

I hope everyone had a wonderful week end. It was kind of chilly here today. We are suppose to get rain the next few days but will just have to wait and see if it happens...Hugs Cindy

Ark Baby Blankie

I made this baby blankie a couple of years ago for my sister to give to a friend. It is the second time I made this pattern and the second time I said "I'd never make another one!" But knowing me I will probably make another one someday. The making is easy it is just the putting together of all those little squares that take the time. But it is so cute when finished. George still has the one I made for him when he was about 12 years old. It is a farm scene. I will have to have him get it out of his closet one of these days and take a pic of it.

It was so nice yesterday. Even Keni commented about the nice spring day. It is suppose to be the same today. I hope so! Then we are suppose to get rain again. We need the rain I just hate all the MUD! I hope everyone has a wonder day...Hugs Cindy

Christmas Again

These are the ornaments I made for the ornament swap in December. I was pretty happy with the way they turned out. I really am excited about the ornaments I have decided to make for the swap this year. It will be so hard NOT to share them before then! I will tell you it will be another snowman but that is all you will get out of me! LOL

I cut the top of my thumb so haven't been able to stitch for the last couple of days but may have to break down and try a to do a little today. It is so hard to not pick up a needle or hook. Tried to read last night but kept thinking about what I wanted to make so had to keep reading the same page over. Finally gave up on the reading! LOL Well gonna go and get some laundry and stuff done. Hopefully I can work on something later. Hope everyone has a great day...Hugs Cindy

Another Scrappy Scarf

This is the 3rd Scrappy Scarf I have made in the last few weeks. Keni says she "claims them all!" They are each so different but so cute. I just love them. For now I am out of pieces of off white so no more Scrappy Scarves for a while. Now I am off to find a new project. That is always a hard decision. Wish me luck...Hugs Cindy

Dishcloth Britches

These have to be my favorite dishcloths to make. Although I don't know if anyone has ever taken them apart to use them. To be honest I don't think I could take them apart to use them!

The snow is melting but we still have a lot to go. Now we are back to mud again. We are enjoying our 3 day weekend. But it sure goes by too fast. But to think school is nearly half way through already! It will be over soon. Time just flies by!!!! Bye for now...Hugs Cindy

Another Scrubbie

Happy Valentine's Day!

I am going to try this one more time. I tried to post this 3 times yesterday and never could. This is my second try today. If this one doesn't work I think I will give up!! This was made with the Dollare Store Scrubbies. I have more scrubbies to use up so need to get more made up.

It snow and was cold yesterday and they called for more snow today but the sun is out and the sky is clear. Keni and I are having a pj day. George had to work this morning but is home now so we are all warm and cozy. Hopefully this will post and I won't have to scream on Valentine's Day! LOL Hope you all have a wonderful day with all your loved ones...Hugs Cindy

Coasters for Valentine's Day

Well, resting the carpal tunnel went out the window yesterday afternoon! Just had to do something. I figured the teachers got enough candy from all the kids so I made some coasters. I thought the colors would be like the conversation hearts. I made 2 sets, just finished the trim on them and after I bundled up the one set I decided to take a pic. I made 4 to the set. I really like this pattern and they work up really fast.

It says it is only 34 degrees outside but doesn't seem that cold. I have the door open and the weeny dogs are laying in the sun spot right in front of the door. It's funny when all 3 dogs are there and the cat too! They only have so much space but they all seem to fit in to get their space in the sun.

Seems I can crochet without as much pain as when I knit so guess I will go and find another crochet project and leave the knitting for a while. I was telling George about this carpal tunnel massage contraption I saw that is guaranteed to free you of pain in 10 days by using it twice a day for 15 minutes at a time. Sounds good to me but the price is $150.00. A lot cheaper then surgery but I'm always afraid they won't return my money if I try to return! Then with the results of my right hand I wonder if the money might be worth it. Gotta think about this one.

Well better go. Hope you all are having a wonderful day. Bye for now...Cindy

Shopping Bags

A few weeks ago I made some shopping bags. I made one to send to Joanne in 2007 but I really like this pattern better. I used some Aunt Lydia's Demin cotton I had bought in Florida and never used. I used to get it at Wal Mart but haven't seen it there for a while now. It is slightly thinner then the cotton I usually use but the balls were big enough to get 2 shopping bags from each ball. They sure will hold a lot. More then I would carry at one time!

We had a terrible storm on Monday. Snow, snow and more snow! And oh so cold! It was 5 degrees yesterday morning. Not quite as cold today but still too cold. We have chances of more snow for the next 3 or 4 days. Sure will be glad when Spring gets here. I haven't been knitting or crocheting for a couple of days and all I want to do it sit down and knit. My carpal tunnel in my left hand has really been bothering me so I have been trying to let it rest up. Not sure how much longer I will go without working on something. I think this summer for sure I need to get it fixed and have it over with. Well time to go and check my email. I haven't even done that for a couple of days. Bye...hugs Cindy

The Ugly Duckling

Yes, he is UGLY, but so ugly he's cute! I made this for Keni when she was born. He is 12 years old and still Quacks! I put a "quack, quack, quack, quack" box in him and was so surprised to hear him still working. We sorted through Keni's stuffed animals yesterday and there he was. We are down to one tub of animals again. So have 2 big trash bags to put away. You know she won't part with any of them! I told her she could only keep two out and change them off with 2 others when she got tired of them. Otherwise this girl has them ALL on her bed!

It is really chilly out today. I started to take the trash down to the dumpster but changed my mind. Told Keni it can wait until we go to the bus in the morning. We just finished making Keni's Valentine cards for school. Just have to put the candy in them and they are finished. She had to decorate some kind of box to take to school for her party Friday. She said it was an assignment and would be graded. I'll have to take a pic. She did a cute job on it. Well that's it for now...Hugs Cindy

Scrappy Scarf

Thursday I decided to make a scarf out of my box of scraps so the "Scrappy Scarf" was born. I finished it last night and of course Keni claimed it! It has 10 colors in the scarf and then more with the colors in the fringe. The only rule was to carry one strand of off white and just reach in and grab a new color when I ran out. If I grabbed the same color as I just finished it was set aside until I grabbed another ball. It actually turned out pretty cute!

So now what do I make? That is the hardest part, the decision! Hope you all have had a nice couple of days. We have had problems and haven't been able to get online the last two days, went over our megabits, so the "fair access policy" dropped our speed down worse then dialup. Sure was happy when I came over here and seen my email was finally working. Well off I go to find a new project...Hugs Cindy

Dishcloths

I found some nylon scrubbies I bought at the Dollar Store a while back so decided to try and use some of them up. Then found the heart pattern and thought it would make a cute dishcloth so stitched that one up too. I love little fast projects! I'm still trying to use up odds and ends and clean out my tubs so no telling what else may come about.

We are overcast and getting ready to rain/snow again! Well off to dust and pick up doggie toys! This Pumpkin loves her toys and will empty the toy basket about as fast as I fill it up! She always seems to want the one toy that is in the very bottom! Hope you all stay warm and dry...Hugs Cindy

Chap Stick Holder

I finally got under my desk and unplugged my computer so it will read my camera disk again. Let's see how long it lasts this time! lol

After finishing the placemats I grabbed my bag with all the odds and ends of cotton and decided to make some chap stick holders. The one with the chap stick in it is the first one I made and then decided to go back to the way I made them before with the bottoms. I liked the first one since you could twist the bottom without removing the stick but wasn't happy because if you weren't careful you could push it out. So I'll stick with the ones with the bottoms. I hope you all have a happy day.

It is suppose to be beautiful today, in the mid 50's, but suppose to be back to stormy tomorrow! Yuk. Bye for now...hugs Cindy

National Wear Red Day

Friday, February 6th is National Wear Red Day to bring awareness to womens' heart disease. I made this little red dress in 2008 to send to my sister not long after she had her heart surgery. This is the poem I sent with it:

A pretty little dress
to mark your page
Slip me on the corner
and there I'll stay
Need a pin to wear
on your chest?
What better then this
Little Red Dress?
I'll bring awareness to
Women's Heart Disease
So wear it proudly
and spread the word
For all to see.

Suede Scarf

I bought this suede yarn a couple of years ago on close out at Wal Mart. They sold for $6.00 a skein so never tried it before. I got it for $1.00 each but they only had the beige and dark brown. I finally used some in December to make this scarf. It is not as easy to work with as acrylic or cotton but I sure liked the finished scarf. Nice and soft and comfy feeling.

I understand that groundhog saw his shadow this morning and we will have 6 more weeks of winter! Just what we needed, more cold! Well I am going to go and get some chores done so I can get to work on the placemats I am making. I so want to crochet! But I can't stand to start something when I am working on a project so placemats first! Only 2 1/2 left to do. Yeah! Have a great day all...hugs cindy
